The entertainment industry is a pretty rough world to be involved in. One minute celebs are the worlds most adored person, the next they're completely forgotten about. Being a celebrity might look easy, but staying relevant should be considered a talent, especially in this social media world we now live in. It seems anyone can be relevant overnight these days! So many names come and go to the point where it's hard to keep up.

Those who have managed to stay relevant have managed to brand themselves in a way that their fans still care to invest their time and money in them. Whether that's changing up their image, venturing into other jobs, maybe keeping the image their admirers fell in love with initially, or maybe it's the way they connect with their fans. It's all some-what a myth to some degree how our favorite names have stayed at the top for so long but regardless, we're still out here supporting them!

Here are 10 celebrities who used to be talked about a decade ago, and 10 we still love and keep up with!

The single topped the charts globally including the US making her the third female artist from the UK to have a number one hit with a debut American single. Her debut album would go on to sell over three million copies in the UK and a million in the US. Everything was going strong for Lewis as she was being acknowledged at big award ceremonies like the Brit and Grammy Awards. Her second album "Echo" did relatively well back off her debut record but her sales would continue to plummet. Her third studio album "Glasshouse" didn't get a global release and her last album "I Am" in 2015 didn't make the top 10 in any country and sold only 24k copies worldwide in the first week. Oops.

18 Relevant: Britney Spears, Everyone's Childhood Idol Still At The Top!

Britney Spears. Who DOESN'T know that name? Hilson and her team wrote Britney's chart-topper "Gimme More", Omarion's "Ice Box", Ciara's "Like a Boy" and Pussycat Dolls' "Bite The Dust" and many more. Are you shook? In 2009, Hilson released her debut album "In A Perfect World" after releasing her platinum 2008 single "Turnin Me On" which featured Lil Wayne. The album would contain the huge "Knock You Down" featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo.

Her single got nominated for a Grammy and Hilson was on the rise.

After the release of her second album, "No Boys Allowed" which didn't match the same success, Keri's music career went pretty quiet. She took a long time off of social media and it seemed everyone forgot she existed. She did make a mini-comeback venturing into acting but no new music is yet to be seen or heard.

16 Relevant: Kim Kardashian, Who Everyone Still Talks About

It's kinda crazy to think Keeping Up With The Kardashians started ELEVEN years ago?! Kim Kardashian, was always somewhat the main star of the show - even back then. The E! hit reality show has seen Kim grow up and everyone has had their own opinion of her whether they admit to care about her existence or not. In 2018, Kim is a super successful businesswoman. 11 Used To Be Popular: Nelly Furtado, Once One Of The Best Selling Female Artists

You might have forgotten but Nelly Furtado was once one of the best selling female artists. Her debut album, "Whoa, Nelly!", sold 9 million copies worldwide and included one of her signature singles "I'm Like A Bird". In 2006, her career re-peaked with her third studio album "Loose" which sold 12 million copies worldwide.

Her singles "Promiscuous", "Maneater", and "Say It Right" were chart toppers around the world and made her a household name.

By 2008, Nelly Furtado was one of pop music's biggest stars. In 2009 she released her first and only Spanish album titled "Mi Plan" which did well across Europe and the Latin charts. A year later she released a greatest hits compilation which didn't make any impact. Two years later she released her fifth studio album "The Spirit Indestructible" which was met with mixed reviews and sold far less than her Spanish record. It only charted at number 79 in the US which was her lowest charting album until 2017's "The Ride" that failed to chart in most countries.

10 Relevant: Spice Girls, Girl Power Still Lives On!

The Spice Girls are living proof that girl power still lives on! To a lot of young kids, the group was probably their introduction to feminism. When they burst onto the pop scene with their debut single "Wannabe", they became global household names. Each fan could identify with at least one of them. When they decided to call it a day back in 2000, they didn't reunite until 2007. Their "The Return of the Spice Girls Tour" kicked off in December 2007 in Canada and grossed over 107 million dollars from the 47 shows. Ten years after the tour ended, they announced that they would be embarking on another comeback tour that will kick off in 2019. Andrew Parsons, Ticketmaster's managing director revealed that “There were millions of people on our site searching for tickets, with a queue at one point of well over 700,000.” Thousands of tickets were sold within minutes. Who's ready to spice up their life for another time?!

9 Used To Be Popular: Justin Timberlake, Who Once Brought Sexy Back...

Justin Timberlake's music career started off at such a great start at the beginning of his pop career. NSYNC were huge and so was Justin's solo career when it first took off. His first four studio albums were successful and so were the tours he embarked on for them. His 2018 fifth studio album "Man of the Woods" met with negative to mixed reviews and has been completely forgotten about since it's release.

His "The Man of the Woods Tour" met with positive reviews but he had to postpone and ax a bunch of the shows with no reason given.

Poor ticket sales it seems. Timberlake recently released a book titled "Hindsight & All the Things I Can't See in Front of Me" and used Britney as a way to get people to talk about the book despite everyone already knowing he's written songs about her. He basically used his ex-girlfriends name to get people to take interest in it. Desperate.

8 Relevant: Naomi Campbell, A Timeless And Ageless Beauty

Naomi Campbell's modeling career started at a young age of 15 when she was recruited. At age 48, Campbell is still a successful model still gracing the covers of magazines globally. She currently plays the role of Rose Crane in Fox's show "Star". They say that your modeling career is quickly over as you get older with age but clearly Naomi Campbell's timeless beauty says differently.

7 Used To Be Popular: Agyness Deyn, Remember Her?

Spotted while shopping with fashion designer Henry Holland, Agyness Deyn's modeling career pretty much started then.

In May 2007, she graced the cover of American Vogue, alongside other models being named "The World's Next Top Models".

She also has been seen on the cover of other Vogue issues like the UK and Italian editions. After walking many runways for many huge designers, it seemed Deyn was in it for the long run. She attempted a music career and released a single with a UK band that flopped so hard, it didn't even make the top 100 singles chart and got a rating of 2/10 by NME magazine. She became a member of a group called Lucky Knitwear who are now defunct. She's done some acting but nothing that you could name and it seems like she isn't gracing any household name magazine covers anymore. Agyness was pretty much everywhere at one point that she was named the Most Annoying Person of 2008, which was an end-of-year list the BBC used to do. Where is she now?

5 Used To Be Popular: Lindsay Lohan, Once Was Taken Seriously, We Think...

Lindsay Lohan has been talked about so much over the past 10 years to the point where we have to question if it's because she's been relevant all this time or not. The only acting role Lindsay took on 10 years ago in 2008, was a mini role in "Ugly Betty" where she appeared in four episodes. Nothing in recent years has ever lived up to Lohan's best films which were in the early 2000s such as, "Mean Girls", "The Parent Trap", "Freaky Friday", and, "Herbie: Fully Reloaded".

She attempted a comeback in 2014 by doing an 8 part documentary series on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network.

The ratings were pretty low and would slip week by week. Lohan in 2018? Does anyone know what her latest venture is?

4 Relevant: Jared Leto, Rock Star, And Actor. He Has It All!

30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto kinda has it all. A successful music career, an acting career spanning over two decades and the face of various designer brands. In 2010 Bynes announced that she was taking a hiatus from acting and is yet to have done any acting since. She, unfortunately, had a public mental breakdown in 2013 and is more known for that recently over anything else she's done sadly.

2 Relevant: P!nk, A Music Career That Has Gone From Strength To Strength

P!nk came onto the music scene with her debut album "Can't Take Me Home" in 2000. Since then her music career has gone from strength to strength. With each album, the public has fallen in love with her more. 10 years ago, P!nk released her fifth studio album "Funhouse" which scored the huge hits "So What" and "Sober". With that album, P!nk embarked on a tour with the same name playing arenas worldwide. That tour was so huge, she went on to play a "Funhouse Summer Carnival" tour where she headlined festivals and played stadiums. Ten years later and P!nk is now on her seventh studio album "Beautiful Trauma", also a mum of two and still playing arenas and stadiums. In the summer of 2019, P!nk will start the stadium leg of her tour in Europe. P!nk has referred to herself as an underdog and it's clear she's right.

1 Used To Be Popular: Nicole Richie, The Socialite People Once Loved

Nicole Richie became a household name when she and her childhood best friend Paris Hilton had their own reality TV show "The Simple Life".

Unlike Paris, Richie hasn't managed to stay relevant and keep up with the times. Hilton is still out there and well, Nicole just... isn't. Richie went into acting and was cast as Portia Scott-Griffith in "Great News" and had a lead role for the two seasons it was on. The show was a success but was still canceled by the production company. Nicole went into Fashion and had success with that too but it just seems she comes and goes and isn't remembered.
