No matter how famous you are, no one is immune to the signs of aging as time passes. There are some famous people who, like the rest of us, just don't take care of themselves like they should. As a result, their age starts to show more rapidly than it does with other individuals. We all will have to accept the fact that our youth has an expiration date whether we like it or not (and whether or not we are famous). Those who have the money to spend on plastic surgery sometimes go overboard, and the process of aging appears even worse than if they were to go au naturel.

Other factors play into reasons why some people age faster than others. It could either be genetics (i.e. receding hairlines or slower metabolisms). It could also be the way you maintain your lifestyle. Your diet, how often you exercise, alcohol and drug consumption levels will play critical roles in to what you will look like down the road. Some celebrities could look good for their age, but maybe they just don't care enough, especially male celebrities. It seems that women are judged more harshly when it comes to aging than men are. When women age, they become irrelevant. When men age, it adds character. Talk about a double standard! Here are some more female AND male celebrities that used to be hot back in the day but have not been looking their best these days.

16 Leonardo DiCaprio

*Shakes head* Leo, Leo, Leo...What happened? He used to be the object of every milennial's (plus the generations before them) desire and affection ever since he got famous for his romantic performances in the late '90s. Starting from romantic performances with the 1996 remake of Romeo and Juliet to the culturally epic 1997's Titanic, Leo stole our hearts and never gave them back. Then he went on to star in more grown-up roles like The Aviator, Catch Me If You Can, and The Wolf of Wall Street. After that, his focus became on saving the world from itself by becoming a political activist for global climate change. In his most notable, recent role, he played a burly forrest man in The Revenant where he won an Oscar but didn't appear as the dreamboat as we remembered him. It seemed to have been downhill from there in the looks department.

When Leo is now spotted by the paparazzi, his appearance is unkempt with out of control facial hair and he has put on some weight. Though he is sporting the "dad bod," that still doesn't stop him from bedding multiple supermodels. Looks like the joke is on us.

15 Kate Moss

When Kate Moss' stardom grew overnight in the '90s, she was that fresh-faced teenager with adorable cat eyes and a lithe body that started the epic heroin chic movement in fashion. In her prime, she was hot enough to land Johnny Depp where they were the It could for awhile (until she has long been replaced by the likes of Amber Heard). Alas, those years of chain smoking, sunbathing, drinking and indulging in the nose candy has gotten the better of her. She has always been known as a party girl so it is no surprise that she has pronounced laughter lines in her face. Her notorious lifestyle has no doubt played its part on his appearance now. The fact that she has never really had the perfect smile has always been part of her charm and set her apart from other supermodels. Let this be a lesson kids: all those years of smoking cigarettes will inevitable lead to premature crow's feet. She has looked like she has reached middle age even when she was in her mid '30s.

14 Donatella Versace

Dontella Versace is a fashion artistic genius when it comes to designing looks for her line. Her style may spark a thousand copycat wannabes, her appearance in terms of anything besides what she wears is no longer to be envied. About twenty years ago, the fashion genius had naturally full lips and smooth skin. Now, her plastic surgery has gotten so out of hand that she now looks like a human wax figure. Come on, why would you want to go getting lip injections when you already have naturally fuller lips? Daily Mail interviewed a plastic surgeon to assess what exactly she did. "Her skin is very shiny which is a symptom of too much Botox and laser resurfacing used to smooth the skin" said Dr. Aamer Khan. He added, "I think there is bone loss in her lower jaw so there may have been an implant." If you Google her transformation over the years, the once sexy Italian bombshell has transformed into something that doesn't even look human anymore.

13 Matthew Perry

We all know that Joey was the cutest dude on Friends, but Matthew Perry had that boyish quality to him that was endearing. Though his legacy as the adorable boy next door will forever be remembered in vindication worldwide on the hit TV show, he is now unrecognizable and Chandler Bing. These days, he is looking tired and disheveled when he is out in public. She doesn't seem to really be putting that much effort into his scruffy appearance. Then again, why should he? He is set for life making millions because he doesn't even have to act anymore even long after Friends has aired. The once clean-cut star is now just another middle aged guy with a dad bod. Now he is sporting jeans with his shirt fastened loosely around his gut where he used to be wearing suave designer suits. We all get past our peak sometime in this lifetime, it looks like this is his.

12 Brigitte Bardot

Brigitte Bardot was a sex symbol and the textbook example of a pin-up girl back in the '50s and '60s. Her sultry appearance, flowing locks of golden hair and that adorable gap between her two front teeth had every man drooling. Her brunette counterpart, Sofia Loren is defying her years and still looks like she is 45 even though she is in her seventies. Brigitte is more or less the same age as her and the difference between how those two have aged is uncanny. Growing up in the generation that didn't see smoking cigarettes as a threat to their health got the shaft when it was time to realize how much damage it does to the skin. All those years of indulging in cigarettes and frolicking in St. Tropez in the sun has now caught up with the former screen siren. Though she doesn't look like it now, there is no denying the beautiful woman that she once was.

11 Haley Joel Osment

Haley Joel Osment was cute as a child and handsome as a teen, but now it's a different story. The former child star who is most famous for his disturbing role in The Sixth Sense with Bruce Willis is now unrecognizable. People don't even approach him when walking down the street because his baby face is now covered in a thick, bushy beard. He has been one of the lucky ones who has dodged the child star curse. Now, you can see the chubby yet endearing 29-year-old on Silicon Valley as a charming-but-sinister tech "it" boy. Lately, he has make some resurgence in his career as an actor with roles in Alpha House, Tusk, The Spoils of Babylon and the British drama Oasis. What is funny is that even if you did see him now on the big screen or the silver screen, you wouldn't even recognize him unless you see his name in the opening credits. Kudos to him for maintaining his career, but man...for a young dude he is looking pretty rough in the looks department.

10 Goldie Hawn

It is no doubt that Goldie Hawn had it going on back in the day. Today, Heather Graham has pretty much replaced her when it comes to those wholesome, blonde girl-next-door types of roles. For awhile, she seemed to have been aging gracefully until that process took a swan dive. She now looks like someone who has had too much exposure to the sun. Maybe she has just taken one too many trips to the tanning salon. Whatever the reason, she just seems to have let herself go. She has managed to clean up for a few movie roles lately like the one she starred in alongside Amy Schumer in Snatched. In the late '90s and early 00's, she looked good as a middle aged woman in The First Wives Club and The Banger Sisters. She was a cougar but now she is that mom of your friend that used to be hot back in the day.

9 Meg Ryan

Meg Ryan has had a seemingly plumped-up, joker-style smile with her new lips and face. This didn't appear before in her rom-com roles of the early '90s. Meg Ryan was once America's sweetheart (kind of like the Jennifer Lawerence of her generation). When she appears on the red carpet now, she looks like a long lost season of Botched. Her face looks unnaturally line-free and a bit swollen (most likely due to Botox or collagen fillers). Though we are bashing some stars for having too many age lines, it is acceptable to be secure with the fact that you are no longer in your prime. Gradual signs of aging is graceful and is something to be celebrated, not ridiculed. It seems that some Hollywood celebrities take this to the extreme by just flat out refusing to accept their own age. There is much pressure for actresses to stay young-looking in order to get roles. It is just sad when we have to see them take extreme measures.

8 Janice Dickinson

The self-proclaimed "world's first supermodel" has not held up her title as time has passed by. The once absolutely gorgeous supermodel is now unrecognizable under all those Botox injections and fillers. In her autobiography, she tells the tales of her hard-partying days in the '70s and '80s. Chain-smoking cigarettes and bouts of eating disorders will take their toll on you and manipulate time into treating you badly. This is the type of aging that is self-inflicted and has little to nothing to do with genetics. It seems like just a few minor cosmetic procedures here and there just wasn't enough for her and she had to go overboard. At the age of 62, her long stints on reality tv shows like America's Next Top Model, The Surreal Life and Couple's Therapy has made her a fan favorite with her wild antics and eccentric personality. However, her appearance is shocking enough to make people want to tune in.

7 Melanie Griffith

Plastic surgery has claimed yet another victim. Enter Melanie Griffith. In her younger years, she was a natural beauty that didn't seem like she even needed a lot of makeup to glow in the morning. In an interview with Daily Mail UK, she revealed that she is now often taunted for her looks. "People tell me that I look horrible" she said. The 54 year-old star, who is married to Antonio Banderas continued to add: "the tweets I get are really nasty." Though her face might be a mess, at least her body is still banging. She told US Weekly, "I don't know if I look that great, but I work out a lot.I have a trainer that I [work with] four times a week, and I do hot yoga. As someone who was once a talented actress, she has now become a poster child for plastic surgery gone wrong. Her infamous over plumped lips have been dubbed "trout pout" and specifically have been referred to by plastic surgeons as something to avoid. Before they do a procedure on a patient, they are often shown pictures of Melanie Griffith as something to avoid.

6 Jack Nicholson

Jack Nicholson is arguable one of the best actors in Hollywood history. He is so cool that really, who cares if he hasn't aged gracefully? His confidence and charisma light up the silver screen and that alone makes up for all those wrinkles and grey hairs. In fact, all those signs of aging are what landed him those memorable acting roles in The Departed, About Schmidt, and Something's Gotta Give. Our generation, however is not familiar with the young Jack Nicholson, the sly character with the devilishly handsome grin. Oh yeah, and those eyebrows. It is so weird how even when he was young, he wasn't the conventional type of handsome guy but he was still sexy in his own right. He played edgy characters who always seemed to be pushing the bounds of society's conventions.

5 Madonna

Madonna is the ultimate super star of every Gen-Xer's youth. No one will ever forget her sexy music videos and provocative style that made her famous. At the age of 59, gravity has not seemed to agree with her. Her body is in banging condition since she is an adamant practicer of yoga and other new-age exercises, so we have to give her credit there. She is one of the raunchiest middle-aged women in Hollywood. She has shared onstage kiss with Drake and most notably with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. Throughout the years, so many people have passed judgement on her clothes, music, health and fitness and even her skin. She seems to give zero f***s about what any of us think of her and that will sustain her wannabe fountain of eternal youth. She has always been a rebel at heart. Even though she doesn't look the same as she did back in the day, her inner energy has not faded away.

4 Macaulay Culkin

We all remember Macaulay Culkin as that adorable kid from the Home Alone series and starring in many movies of our childhood. In a way, we feel as if we grew up with him if we were the ones who grew up in the '90s. What we don't know is that he is actually a talented actor even as an adult. His performance alongside Seth Green in 2003's Party Monster was side-splitting hilarious that its a shame that not enough people know about the film. He just hasn't landed the roles that he deserves due to his history with drug addiction. Though he was school-boy cute in his late teens, his mental health spiraled out of control after spending a number of years addicted to various substances. In some pictures, he looked candidly malnourished and sleep deprived. Though he has always been a smaller, skinnier dude, he dropped some pounds to a skeletal level for awhile. We can only hope that he will make an epic acting comeback.

3 Liza Minnelli

This is hard to believe, but Liza Minnelli was pretty and adorable back in the day. At the age of 19, she was the youngest woman in history to win a Tony Award for lead actress in her Broadway debut in Flora the Red Menace. This was the role that would put her out of her famous mother's (Judy Garland) shadow. She went from a fresh-faced starlet to a haggard witch when she started to get older. To give her credit, she is 70 years old now but she has been looking like that for quite some time. Her short-lived marriage to David Gest between 2002-2007 made for some circus freak wedding photos starring Michael Jackson. Need we say more? We have to admit that Liza has undistinguisable talent, but she does not look like someone who takes care of herself to the optimal level.

2 Vince Vaughn

Vince Vaughn hasn't always exactly been a pretty boy per se, but he used to have a rugged sexiness about him. In movies in the early '90s like Swingers, Rudy and The Locusts, he had a fresh face, chiseled body and a wise cracking sense of humor that made ladies swoon. Nowadays, he is looking worn out and puffy faced with bags under his eyes. To be fair, this is what middle age does even to the best of us. Still, most actors take some initiative to take better care of themselves. Maybe Vince Vaughn just doesn't give a rip since he is married to a younger, gorgeous wife and they have two kids together. Some people just stop trying after marriage and kids happen. Given the fact that he is in his '40s and lives a cushy life after being an A-lister for more than a decade, maybe the way he is aging is just a small price to pay. No one can have it all, not even Vince Vaughn.

1 Kathleen Turner

Out of everyone on this list, Kathleen Turner cares the least on what other people have thought about her aging. She was an amazing theatre actress who played lead as Mrs. Robinson on the Broadway rendition of The Graduate. After appearing in many successful films, her career was tragically thwarted in 1992. She was forced to give up a stellar movie career after she was diagnosed with a crippling arthritis and told that she may never walk again. It is fair to say that out of everyone on this list, she probably has the most legitimate, excusable reason to have for not aging as gracefully as the average bear in the woods. She has gained weight as a side effect caused by the drugs she takes for her rheumatoid arthritis. She was screen seductress in the '80s starring alongside Michael Douglas in Romancing The Stone as well as others in The War Of The Roses and Body Heat. We can only hope that she can make an acting comeback.
