The pop star has famously been dating R&B singer The Weeknd, who was previously in a relationship with model Bella Hadid. The couple reportedly began dating around January 2017, after photos of them getting cozy in front of Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica surfaced.
Since then, the two have been inseparable! They went to tons of music festivals together this summer, showed up to red carpet events arm in arm, and even support one another at their concerts. But some fans are convinced Selena’s heart still belongs to the womanizer- so perhaps she might go back to him one day!
A source says the exes reconnected recently following Selena’s liver transplant. Justin evidently called her up to apologize for their past history, and the two might even be on talking terms now. “Selena decided it was time to forgive Justin,” they explained, adding, “They’ve been texting [more], talking, and even making plans to meet up.”
“[Selena] is telling friends she believes she and Justin are adults now and can finally be friends,” the source said. “Selena doesn’t want to jeopardize her relationship with The Weeknd. But Selena reportedly has been having trouble trusting The Weeknd. A source explained that Sel’s previous bad dating experiences and the pressures of their careers are getting to them.
“The distance isn’t good for Selena and Abel. She has trust issues and hates being apart from him,” they explained. “Whenever Abel’s phone rings or he gets a text, Selena looks over his shoulder to see who it is. It drives him crazy. They’re really on the rocks right now.”
The source added that Selena’s chaotic relationship with Justin Bieber may have something to do with their trust issues. "She became a different person around [Justin]," the source said. "She was extremely jealous and possessive and felt like she had to keep up with him to keep him. So she would drink and smoke, and then she got into other things."

11 He Actually Might Have Cheated With An Instagram Model
After sources came forward claiming that Selena was suspicious of her man, a few months later reports said that The Weeknd did in fact cheat with an Instagram model. He reportedly hooked up with Irish Instagram star Ava Van Rose. A source said he invited the beauty back to his hotel after performing in Dublin.
“She was brought right up to Abel’s penthouse suite,” a source who said they were there that night claimed. They said The Weeknd was “blown away” by Ava’s body, which includes a large set of cleavage, as evidenced by her Insta page. “He even gave her and her friends all-access backstage passes to his show.” They continued.

Despite the marriage rumors following these two, a few weeks ago a source said that Selena had been heavily hinting she wants him to pop the question. It sounds like the pop star is desperate to get a ring on her finger, which doesn’t sound like the Selena we know and love. Given that the two have only been dating for a few months, many fans think Selena might be rushing things.
“Selena has been doing a little bite of research and leaving pages open on her laptop for Abel to ‘accidentally’ find when she’s not around […] She says it’s her way of ‘gently coaxing’ Abel into proposing,” the source said. “This [relationship] is the first time a potential marriage and children has been a thought as something serious in Selena’s mind,” they went on, “And she would fully consider and expects The Weeknd to be her man for the rest of her life.”

In photos, The Weeknd and Selena look lovable and affectionate with one another. But insider sources explain that the two can really get into a heated argument when things are tenuous between them.
"They’ve gone from being madly in love to being at each other's throats,” a source explained. "They’ve hardly been spending any time together lately, and it’s led to many fights. Selena’s been busy promoting [her new hit] 'Fetish,' while The Weeknd has been gearing up for the next leg of his Starboy: Legend of the Fall tour [which begins in September]." Yikes!
The insider went on, "Whenever The Weeknd’s phone rings or he gets a text, Selena looks over his shoulder to see who it is. It drives him crazy," added the source. "If they were to break up, no one would be surprised." We guess these two aren’t so perfect after all!
8 The Weeknd Is Known For His Bad Habits
Selena is one of the more clean-cut celebrities nowadays. She’s never really had a big scandal and tends to steer clear of partying and anything that could tarnish her ‘good girl image.’ However, the same can’t be said for The Weeknd, who’s been known to party hard and experiment with illicit substances. One listen to any of his songs will reveal just how deep the singer has gotten into that lifestyle.
The singer once admitted he was kicked out of his mom’s house at 17 and moved in with a friend in a one-bedroom apartment. But he said they spent most of his money on supporting his bad habit. “When I had nothing to do but make music, it was very heavy,” he told PEOPLE magazine.
He continued, “Drugs were a crutch for me. There were songs on my first record that were seven minutes long, rambling – whatever thoughts I was having when I was under the influence at the time. So many celebrities have been vocal about their support for Black Lives Matter- but Selena doesn’t seem to be one of them. This will definitely be a big problem for her relationship, since The Weeknd is African American. In July 2016, an angry fan began questioning Selena over Twitter about why she hasn’t publicly addressed the campaign.
The fan’s Twitter rant came after Selena made her own tweet questioning why people don’t talk about things that matter. “Good question! Why haven’t you or Taylor not said a thing about #BlackLivesMatter or police brutality?” @prasejeeebus fired back at her. Instead of answering, Selena proceeded to delete her original tweet, which seemed to enrage the Internet even more (and certainly didn’t make her look good).
“Baby girl @selenagomez did you hit ‘delete’ by accident? Don’t worry, I took a screenshot for ya,” @prasejeebus tweeted again. Selena has yet to comment on the Black Lives Matter Campaign, which can’t be sitting well with her boyfriend.

Before Selena, The Weeknd was madly in love with model Bella Hadid. They were totally the hot ‘it’ couple, which is why we were all shocked when the two suddenly split up after over a year of dating.

The Weeknd has been a rock for Selena through some tough times so now she wants to return the favor and be loving and supportive of him as he continues to bring joy to so many, despite the dangers of the world.”

OMG! Did you know that Selena’s boyfriend has a criminal record? Back in January 2015, the news broke that the ‘Starboy’ singer had been placed under arrest after assaulting a police officer in Las Vegas.
Authorities were called to the celeb’s Cromwell Hotel around 4:20am when the fight was reportedly still taking place. A cop was punched when he tried to pull The Weeknd into an elevator to stop the commotion.
The Weeknd was booked and even had a mugshot taken. He was eventually released on bail and seemingly made light of the situation when he posted a pic of him boarding a private jet on Instagram. “Escaped from Las Vegas,” he made the title. It’s so not cool to assault someone and then joke around about being arrested on social media!
2 She Admits He’s More Of A Best Friend Than Anything Else
While you obviously want to enjoy spending time with your significant other, you don’t necessarily want it to feel the same as when you hang with your BFFs. There needs to be a bit of passion or romance in the relationship to help spice things up. Or else, the relationship can easily fizzle out, become repetitive, or be boring.
But in a cover story with InStyle magazine, Selena reveals that her beau feels more like one of her besties than anything else. She also admitted she doesn’t need to rely on him for much. Um, sounds romantic? "I don't depend on one area of my life to make me happy. It's really important for me to love and nourish my friends and family and to make sure that I never get influenced by a guy.”
She continued, “I've wanted to be in a strong head space for years, and I really wasn't. Before, I was so young and easily influenced, and I'd feel insecure. You want someone to add to your life, not to complete you, if that makes sense," Selena tells the magazine. "I'm lucky because he's more of a best friend than anything else."
1 Her Bestie Taylor Swift Might Have Flirted With Him
The Weeknd only had weird things to say about Taylor Swift upon meeting her for the first time at a Grammy’s after party. He said that Taylor wouldn’t stop touching his hair!
"But the whole time she was talking, she was kind of, like, petting my hair?" he explained to Rolling Stone. "I think she was just drawn to it — she must have been a little gone off a few drinks. And of course I'm not going to be like, 'Hey, can you stop?' I mean, it felt good! But when she started petting my hair, that's when I was like, 'I definitely need a drink.'"
It turns out he and Tay have remained close friends throughout the years, which might be weird considering she’s Selena’s bestie. He went on to make an appearance during her last world tour, proving that they’re definitely friends.
