One of the golden rules of life is that if you don't have something nice to say, you shouldn't say anything at all. There are probably people that you don't exactly love, from that annoying girl who is always in your Wednesday evening yoga class to a friend of a friend that you always see at parties and get togethers. But instead of insulting them, you stay silent. Who wants to be a jerk? You would think that celebrities would follow the same rule. After all, they are incredibly public figures and if a famous person says something about another equally famous person, everyone is going to find out. It's not like that can be kept a secret. That's definitely not the case. There are some celebs who have said pretty mean things about others in Hollywood, and the digs keep coming. Here are 15 harsh AF things celebs have said about other celebs.

14 Demi Lovato On Taylor Swift's Girl Squad

When the singer was interviewed in Glamour magazine a while ago, she had this to say about Taylor Swift and her infamous girl squad: "I think in certain situations, certain people could be doing more if they're going to claim that as part of their brand. To be honest, and this will probably get me in trouble, I don't see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body. It's kind of this false image of what people should look like. And what they should be like, and it's not real." What Demi Lovato is basically saying is that everyone in T-Swift's squad is super skinny and beautiful. Well, yes, that is totally true. But it also is harsh AF because it makes it seem like Taylor only picks friends based on their looks. And, honestly, that seems like a pretty weird claim to make. Whether you love or hate Taylor Swift, you have to admit that she probably wants friends who are cool and fun, just like everyone else, and looks probably have nothing to do with it.

13 Jeremy Renner On The Kardashians

The actor once made his feelings on the famous reality television family clear... and it's pretty much the very definition of harsh. He said, "Oh, all those ridiculous people with zero talent who spend their lives making sure everyone knows their name. Those stupid, stupid people." Whoa. Those are some serious fighting words. Sure, he has basically just said what most people are thinking, and he definitely isn't the first person to put this into words. But, yeah, it's kind of mean. Whether you love or hate the Kardashians (or the Jenners, of course), you have to admit that calling them stupid is really taking things to another level that just might not be that appropriate. Let's just live and let live and not insult others, okay? You definitely don't have to be fans of every celebrity because that's not reality but sometimes it's best to say nothing at all.

12 Amanda Bynes Says Zac Efron Is Ugly

Once, Amanda Bynes started calling all kinds of celebrities ugly on Twitter. Among them was Zac Efron. Specifically, she said that the actor "has an ugly face." Yes, that's a pretty mean thing to say, but you also know that it's absolutely not true. Come on. Zac Efron? Zac Efron?! He is one of the hottest guys in Hollywood, if not the hottest. Just look at him. Now that he's starring in this summer's remake of Baywatch, he's got the amazing abs to match his amazing face. You definitely don't think that anyone agreed with Amanda Bynes when she said that. It's actually kind of funny when you think about it since it's so completely false. Whenever you want to put a smile on your face or cheer yourself up on a bad day, remember that Amanda Bynes said that Zac Efron is ugly. And that he has an ugly face. You're going to feel better immediately.

11 Brad Pitt On His Marriage To Jennifer Aniston

Brad Pitt was interviewed in Parade magazine in 2011 and is said to have made this comment: he "wasn't living an interesting life" when he was married to Jennifer Aniston. Ouch. That's a pretty mean thing to say. You wonder how Jennifer Aniston felt when she heard about that. Actually, you pretty much know how she felt. She was probably annoyed, especially since ever since the two of them split up, she has been hearing about how sad she is and how much she wants a new husband and a baby and all that jazz. Of course, the chatter hasn't stopped, even though she's happy and married now. It must be seriously frustrating. Just one of the pitfalls of fame. But, honestly, Brad Pitt shouldn't say his life with her was boring. That's just a really mean thing to say. How would he like it if she had done the same thing?

10 Paris Hilton On Kim K's Butt

Did you know that Paris Hilton has an opinion about Kim Kardashian's butt? Well, she does. Here is what she said on a radio show back in 2008: "I would not want [Kim’s butt] — it’s gross! ... It reminds me of cottage cheese inside a big trash bag.” Ouch. That's a really mean thing to say. And kind of strange, to be honest. You're not sure that you would have come up with the same thing. Since everyone knows that Kim used to work for Paris Hilton, it's possible that there is some bad blood there. Okay, it's more than possible. It makes sense that Paris might want to publicly insult her. That's just what happens in these types of situations. After all, Kim was Paris Hilton's assistant back in the day and today, she's definitely doing pretty well. But that doesn't mean that this comment was nice or even necessary.

9 Joan Rivers On Britney Spears

Did the late Joan Rivers love Britney Spears? Definitely not. Apparently she once said of the pop singer, "I can't wait for her career to be over so she can serve me coffee at a 7-Eleven. She's such white trash." Okay. Saying that Britney Spears is "white trash" is super harsh. Saying that anyone is white trash is pretty harsh, actually. It's horrible. It's honestly just a horrible thing to say. It's okay if you aren't a fan of a certain singer. No one is going to force you to listen to their music or even pay attention to what is going on in their musical career. It's cool if you want to be a fan of someone else. You just can't love anyone. But this is way over the line. Yes, it's true that Joan Rivers was known for saying really harsh things about celebrities and that this was basically her career. But still, this is way too much.

8 Joan Rivers On Lena Dunham's Weight

Yup, Joan Rivers also had this to say about Lena Dunham: "You are sending a message out to people saying, 'It's okay. Stay fat. Get diabetes.'" She then continued, "I'm saying if you look the way you look, Lena -- and that's fine and you're funny -- but don't say it's okay that other girls can look like this. Try to look better. Try to look better!" You don't even have any words. There are just no words. Fat shaming is not okay. It is never, ever okay. That goes without saying and yet it still needs to be said. You just don't think that women should ever put other women down and make them feel bad about themselves, especially about their appearance or their weight. You feel badly for Lena because no one should have to hear something like this about themselves, whether they are famous or not. It's just too mean.

7 Charlie Sheen Says That Ashton Kutcher Sucks

In 2012, when Charlie Sheen was interviewed by TMZ, he said this about Ashton Kutcher: “I’m tired of lying, I’m tired of pretending the show doesn’t suck, I’m tired of pretending Ashton doesn’t suck.” Wow. Tell us how you really feel, Charlie Sheen. You totally understand that there is going to be some friendly competition when two actors are on the same television show, but in this case, it seems like things got unfriendly and fast. This is definitely not a professional thing to say or a professional way to behave. Of course, it's no surprise. You know that Charlie Sheen had a public breakdown and was written off the show. He also very publicly insulted Chuck Lorre and pretty much everyone involved with the show. This comment is just an example of the many mean things that he said around this time period.

6 Courtney Love On Lady Gaga

Courtney Love had this to say about Lady Gaga: “I don’t think her music is that compelling, but that’s cause I listen to rock music.” This is not the worst thing that someone could say, but it's also pretty mean. Because honestly, if you're not a fan of someone's music, that's fine. That's totally fine. You don't need to really have a great big conversation about it. If she listens to rock music, then cool. But why would she feel the need to say that Lady Gaga's music is not "compelling"? It's just a harsh way of explaining herself. It's a shame when women put down other women, and this is just one of those examples. You wonder what Lady Gaga's reaction was when she heard about this. She probably just laughed it off. If you're a famous person, after all, you definitely have to get used to this kind of stuff.

5 Spencer Pratt On Lady Gaga

Okay, so this one is pretty funny. More than funny. It's absolutely hilarious. Remember Spencer Pratt? Aka Heidi's one true love on The Hills? He had this to say about Lady Gaga: “Heidi [Montag]’s a far more talented artist. Personally, I think Lady Gaga is repulsive and classless.” Are you biased, Spencer? Just a little bit? Maybe? It's really not cool to insult someone and then act like you're doing that because you think that your wife is much better. Obviously you love your wife. She's your wife, after all. You don't have to insult someone else just because you want to compliment the person that you are in a relationship with. That's really not a great thing to do. Also, saying that Lady Gaga is "repulsive" and "classless" is seriously rude. It's just rude. There's really nothing else to say about it.

4 Miley Cyrus Says Taylor Swift Is Stuck Up

Not everyone is a big fan of T-Swift. Miley Cyrus reportedly told Ok! Magazine, "That Taylor is stuck up and [she] can't deal with how prissy she is. [I] can't stand girly girls." Um, whoa. That is an incredibly mean thing to say about someone, whether they are a celebrity or not. Would you want someone to say that about you? Definitely not. Ouch. It seems like the feeling is pretty mutual since Taylor had insulted Miley's performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. But, still, this is a pretty extreme reaction to have to finding out that someone didn't love your performance. Maybe Miley needs to hear that if you have nothing nice to say, it's okay to smile and say nothing at all and just move on to another subject.

3 Shailene Woodley Doesn't Know Who Kylie Jenner Is

Once, Shailene Woodley was on a red carpet, and she was asked to copy Kylie Jenner's infamous look in selfies. Shailene said, "I have no idea who that is, I'm sorry." Did she really have no idea who Kylie was... or was she just saying that because she didn't want to make the selfie face? You can understand that. Not everyone loves making selfie faces or even selfies in general. Maybe she really doesn't like the Kardashians or the Jenners and just didn't want to get into it. She might have accidentally said something super rude and that's just not her style. Hey, she definitely wouldn't be the first person to be a hater when it comes to this famous family. It does make sense because she's a smart, serious actress who stars in indie films and more thoughtful Hollywood fare. You wouldn't really expect her to be a regular viewer of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. That just wouldn't fit with her whole thing.

2 Lorde On Taylor Swift

Did you hear about what Lorde said about her friendship with Taylor Swift? Here's the full quote from The Guardian: “It’s like having a friend with very specific allergies. There are certain places you can’t go together. Certain things you can’t do. There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. It’s like having a friend with an autoimmune disease.” Needless to say, people weren't super thrilled to hear that she said that. If you have allergies or an autoimmune disease, then you definitely aren't happy and you're not laughing. It's pretty insulting. Your life is definitely not the same as Taylor Swift's... and, it goes without saying, but having a disease is much worse than being famous. But you already knew that. So there's really no point getting into that. Lorde came under fire and had to say that she was sorry for her comment.

1 Hanson On The Biebs

If you have "MMMBop" stuck in your head on a regular basis, then you agree that Hanson was a big part of your childhood, especially if you grew up in the 90s. But did you know that Hanson is not a fan of Justin Bieber? The band actually had some pretty harsh things to say about him. Specifically, they said that his music is "chlamydia of the ear." Yup. They really said that. Harsh, right? Zac said, "I prefer not to get any venereal diseases, so whenever Justin Bieber gets sort of near me or near my ears, it’s just ear infections. [His songs are] terrible." Isaac then said, "It's chlamydia of the ear. It sucks." Whoa. Those are some serious fighting words. You don't agree with that, of course, since you definitely love The Biebs. You can't stop listening to his latest album, Purpose, and you're always hopeful that his comeback is for real. Come on Hanson. Don't be so mean.
