Hormones combined with the pressure of a super physical driven society makes it pretty hard for us to remain virginal and untouched. It might seem impossible to resist temptation but there are a few who kept the old adage of waiting until marriage to get down and dirty alive and well. Recent surveys have shown that the vast majority of committed couples wait between 3 and 5 dates on average to consummate the union; in other words, people are not wasting time on getting down to business in the bedroom. There are hundreds of reasons as to why someone should or shouldn't wait, but the truth is waiting has no real influence on the duration or durability of a relationship. However, there are many who believe that waiting creates a unique kind of relationship as opposed to those getting busy right away. Most often rooted in religion, waiting to until marriage has been a convention people swore by. Up until the 1960s (approximately) premarital intimacy was seen as a "moral issue" that was taboo and considered a sin in most religions. Thankfully times have changed and we don't have such a harsh view on the world anymore. 15 Carrie Underwood
Country singer Carrie Underwood told Slate Magazine in a 2007 interview that she was waiting until marriage to have be intimate. Three years later the American Idol winner exchanged vows with Nashville Predators own Mike Fisher. The tall, dark, and handsome hockey player popped the question in 2009 and 7 months later the two were walking down the aisle hand in hand. It was a story book ending for the two lovebirds. The couple's happy little family didn't stop there. On February 27,2015, the couple welcomed baby Isaiah Michael Fisher to the mix making their joyous duo a loving trio. Carrie was about 25 when she threw caution to the wind and laid it all on the line for Fisher. Though there are rumors floating around about a possible divorce, as far as we know the couple is going steady and strong.
14 Jordan Sparks
I can assure you that this is not American Idol contestant criteria, but season six's winner Jordan Sparks proudly wore her purity ring on the show and even for some years after. Things were going well and pristine for the young curly headed Sparks until she met the likes of a singer by the name of Jason Derulo. The two lasted together for a total of three years, which didnt last for as long as we had hoped. And neither did the ring. In a 2014 episode of gossip's queen b, "The Wendy Williams Show", Sparks flashed all 10 fingers in the air exposing the absence of a certain ring. So when we found out that all three of the members of the Jonas brothers donned a purity ring we were disappointed but ready for the disheartening news. Adriana Lima eloped in 2009 at age 28 to NBA player Marko Jaric, the marriage brought the birth of two beautiful daughters, but unfortunately only lasted five years. Lima's perfect ending didn't pan out the way she had hoped but she isn't disappointed, she says of all the jobs she's been given "the best job in the world for me is being a mom."

"Of all the things about myself, staying a virgin until my wedding night is the thing that makes me most proud," said Jessica Simpson on taping her reality show "Newlyweds" with former husband Nick Lachey. Simpson's father gifted Simpson a purity ring at the age of 12 in which she kept on until her wedding. But the purity ring wasn't the last to go, Simpson then took off a completely different ring 3 years later at the age of 25 after the couple called it quits. Rumors about the divorce began spreading months before the separation for reasons from Simpson's father, to infidelity, etc. Nothing has since been confirmed but we take it that the end of this relationship was a long time coming. The two have since remarried and started families so we wish them all the best.

It's never too late to start practicing no intimacy before marriage; you just simply have to stop having sex. Sometimes there can be blessings in waiting. Ciara would probably agree after meeting and dating Seattle Seahawks Russell Williams. The relationship began after the tumultuous breakup with rapper Future that included infidelity, court cases, and shared custody of an almost 3 year old son. The engagement lasted for a year and ended just 3 months before their son was born. But it seems to be only positive energy and amazing vibes radiating from the new couple. The happy couple abstained from sex before they were married and the big day couldn't come soon enough. When asked about why she chose to hold onto her virginity in interviews, she would jokingly say that it was because she was way too nerdy to attract a guy before 24. But I think Fey is just trying to avoid being a bit political, it's okay Fey, you can tell us you waited we won't say anything.

Former NFL player Tim Tebow of the Philadelphia Eagles is no stranger to warming up and getting ready for a big game but when it comes to sexual relations he takes a seat on the sidelines. Celine Dion didn't quite abstain until marriage, but she did however lose it to the guy that she knew she would marry. I want to give a round of applause to Tina Fey and Celine Dion for this amazing womanly insight. That whole "knowing he's the one" thing is easier said than done. But not for Celine Dion who in 1994 married Rene Angelil. It was a love story from the beginning. Once Angelil discovered Celine, he mortgaged his home to fund her first record. The two were very different apart from their 26-year age difference, but none of that seemed to matter. The two had a long and beautiful relationship, which included the birth of twin boys. In 2015 just two days before his 74th birthday Angelil passed away. our heart go out to her.
